In 2017, we launched the Emotie app – a dynamic tool that helps employees better understand, manage and express their emotions in the workplace.

We live in an increasingly fast-paced world, so emotional well-being is more important than ever. And while employment surveys can be effective, they take time to put together and carry out.

In contrast, Emotie works in real time, providing users with a simple yet powerful way to communicate how they feel at work. After all, while businesses are often very good at asking their people how they’re achieving their objectives, they’re not as good at asking how they feel about achieving those objectives.

Emotie is essential for organisations of five employees or more, and it enables continuous dialogues between employees and managers – even if they are remote or hybrid workers.

How does it work?

The app is designed with user-friendliness in mind and features an intuitive interface that makes it easy to navigate. It features a unique rating system comprising four emoji-style icons called Emoties.

The app prompts employees to express themselves by selecting the ‘Emotie’ that best mirrors their current emotion, capturing real-time insights into their performance, engagement and well-being.

Of course, the employee’s responses can then be answered via the app or on a call by their manager, and an instant dialogue can be instigated if required.

By empowering employees to express their feelings in the moment, they will feel understood and supported, their managers will feel informed, and engagement and, ultimately, productivity are likely to increase.
